2012 AmeriCorps State and National Funding Opportunities

The Corporation for National and Community Service would like to encourage interested organizations to learn more about the 2012 AmeriCorps Grant opportunities.  AmeriCorps provides grants to faith and community based organizations, Indian Tribes, institutions of higher education, disaster services, health, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, and services to veterans and military families.

There will be a series of informative conference calls hosted by the Federal AmeriCorps State and National program officers where potential applicants can ask questions. The series of calls will cover a variety of topics. For a list of topics or to sign up to participate in a call, go to http://www.americorps.gov/pdf/12_1003_applicant_call_schedule_fy_2012.pdf. For a list of 2012 AmeriCorps Notice of Funding Opportunities, go to http://www.americorps.gov/for_organizations/funding/nofa.asp. If you would like to speak to a program officer directly, call (202) 606-7508.

The Maine Commission for Community Service is the state government partner of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that administers AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and Volunteer Generation programs.

The state Commission builds capacity and sustainability in Maine's volunteer and service communities by funding programs, developing managers of volunteers and service-learning practitioners, raising awareness of sector issues, and promoting service as a strategy to solve local problems.
